Self hosting gives you total control over geolocation/firewall rules/lockdown - time schedules when logons can be enabled etc.

They’re tied to your encryption key, which means you can’t decrypt them on your own or import them into a new Bitwarden account in case something happens to your main account. WebBitwarden is transparent, uses state of the art encryption that is known to be secure. You can look at it, you know it is. Passwords only are decrypted locally and if someone has access to your device locally it is game over anyways. I would not worry to much about it.
