WebDec 10, 2006 · In stock form all the BB heads flow essentially the same. The 452's respond very well to mild porting and have hardened seats in the exhaust valve area. The hardened seats are needed for unleaded fuel. Those are my favorite iron head and if i was doing a street engine the only (iron) head i'd consider is a 452.

WebAug 8, 2010 · typical 70's cast crank BB chrysler. slugs are .115 in the whole. 452 heads have nice large chambers,and flow great,but don't help the 7.9-8.2 to 1 compression. cheap and easy fix is a set of 66-67 346 or 516 heads from a 2 or 4 barrel 383. these have smaller valves and chambers than 906-452's,but with .039 fel-pro headgaskets,will bring that 400 … WebDec 31, 2024 · Had the bone stock 452 heads gone through and had the correct valve springs installed for the MP 284/484 cam i used. SO, i have the .030 over 440 with 9.5:1 compression with the stock unported 452 heads and the 284/484 cam installed 4 degrees advanced at 104. indygo red line hours

One thing i found out the hard way with my 452 heads, they have a casting lip on the exhaust flange surface, so i had to grind the header flanges to make them fit. Wasn't a happy camper.
